AIROW (Artists In Residence On Whidbey) is a FREE island-wide, art incubator facilitated by an Arts Strategist. Artists gather on Zoom with the purpose of easily generating an abundance of health, wealth and happiness for themselves while boosting the local economy by showcasing island artist's works to regional, national and international audiences.
The journey begins for seasoned and emerging artists alike by answering one question in particular… “What do you want to have, to be and to do with your art?” From the list, one specific, juicy experience is chosen by the artist and becomes the focus. (Examples: Money. An award. A studio. National recognition. Collectors. A solo gallery opening of their work.) That’s when Cheryl steps in to co-author a direct strategic plan that will accomplish that one desired goal in reality. Then… each artist takes their plan to the streets (literally) between classes and makes it real, usually within 6 months! (No joke.)
While you read a sampling of what others have accomplished, be thinking about "what is YOUR dream with your art? What do you want to gain or achieve with it?"
What Artists have desired and achieved:
• Janice secured a perfect working studio space for free.
• Nate got the lead in the play and went on national tour.
• Anna sold one painting for $3000 and the next one for $3002.
• David secured 2 galleries to sell his pottery.
• Yvonne published her book of Super Simple Sumi-e Asian Brush Painting
and the book continues to sell on Amazon.
• Mary Beth developed a designer lunch box and the Boston Medical Hospital
carries it for sale in their gift shop.
• Tony won a contest prize of $1200 for his sculpture.
• Cynthia read her poetry at a bookstore and signed copies of her poems.
• Robert plays jazz with a group of musicians now every Sunday evening and loves it!
